Dawisu, a media aide of Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano State has come under fire for releasing a cryptic tweet likely suggesting that VP Yemi Osibanjo is redundant.

In a typical Nigerian University, there is VC Academics and VC Admin. While the VC Academics is often a ceremonious title, the Admin holds the mantle and calls the shot.

Could this be the pun Dawisu was referring to when he replied; “Vice President (Academics) is still around sir,” to the statement by a Twitter user inferring that everyone in Nigeria is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly held in New York.

This has sparked reactions from all spheres of Twitter with fans of the Vice President calling out Dawisu on what they feel is a slight on the face of their leader.

Some others have purportedly decided to make jest of the situation, as they accused the South West Faction of the APC of holding their “meal ticket” closer to their heart than the VP.

Said Dawisu has seemingly redressed his statement, stating that it was all a joke.

However, some people, including members of the rulling party are of the opinion that such statement are distasteful coming from him.

All of these, however, may not be happening, if the Presidency’s body language did not suggest such. Recall that early September, the Presidency replaced VP Osibanjo’s Economic Team with a team that will report directly to the Presidency.

Many speculations are rife that these are games and gimmicks targeted at the 2023 Presidency. Even Dawis may have confirmed that in his tweet above.

In all of these, Nigerians may want to talk about the purported VP Admin. Who is he/she?
