The Kogi State Government has denied recording the third case of coronavirus, The PUNCH reports.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Haruna, said no sample was sent to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control that could warrant a third case.
The NCDC on Wednesday announced that Kogi recorded another COVID-19 case.
But Haruna, in a Facebook post, said the state government was not aware of the fresh case.
He posted, “The purported New Case: We are not aware of who the patient is, where and when the Test was conducted! No sample sent from KG.”
While announcing the new case, NCDC said, “On the 3rd of June 2020, 348 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria.
“No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
