More women are getting involved in the Fintech space in Africa but it is especially refreshing to see those that are making waves at the top. It was recently announced that MTN’s new chief digital and Fintech Officer is non-other than Yolanda Cuba.
She will be handling the company’s expansion into financial services and mobile money. Helping MTN carve out a legit mark for itself in the Fintech space.
Wondering if she can handle the job? Well her background speaks for itself. With a bachelors degree in statistics and accounting from the University of Cape Town, she forged a path for herself as an expert in the telecommunications industry.
In addition, she also is an alumnus of global business school, INSEAD’s International Executive Programme. Before her new role, Yolanda Cuba was the CEO of Vodafone Ghana for about 3 years which earned her Telecom CEO of the Year award in 2018.
