Upon the spread of the coronavirus to the Northern Nigeria, Governor Ganduje set out to increase capacity for coronavirus treatment in the state. He went on to set up a makeshift isolation center in the Sani Abacha Stadium.
The Governor stated that the isolation center would help the state be battle ready for the coronavirus. The isolation center seemed to be donated by Aliko Dangote in a private sector effort to help the government fight the pandemic.
However, a fact finding mission to the isolation centre shows that the centre has been packed up.
The video above as reported by talkaboutmag.com shows a man on a fact finding mission who stated the date while recording the empty isolation centre which had no patient nor set bed.
“As at the day of #EidMubarak , 24th of May 2020, this is the Kano #Covid_19 isolation centre reportedly treating over 600 cases of coronavirus. The place is empty, deserted and hot as stated by the narrator. @dawisu any comments?”
The man also claimed that the Government of Kano State lied about treating 600 people in the isolation centre. He ended the video by going outside and showing the Sani Abacha Stadium.
While all of these are still under investigation, Talkaboutmag has called on the SA New Media to the Governor of Kano State, Dawisu, to make a statement on the issue.
