Some gunmen have killed 15 people at Gonar Rogo village located in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state.

Thae spokesman of the Kaduna police command, Mohammed Jalige, said they got a call from the divisional police officer (DPO) in Kajuru that a group of armed men invaded the village.

Apart from the 15 people killed, five other people sustained injuries, adding that they have assembled a team and sent it to Kajuru to track down these culprits.

“The attackers started shooting sporadically, attacking the villagers and in the process shot and killed 15 persons, and injured five others,” NAN quoted him as saying in the statement.

”While we embarked on an intensive manhunt for the fleeing attackers, both the dead and the injured victims were evacuated to hospital.”

The team would prevent the “further breakdown of law and order or reprisal attacks, as well as the arrest of perpetrators”.

“The command calls on members of the public to continue to assist the police with useful information that could help in addressing these challenges and for the possible arrest of these criminals,” he said.
